Technical Assistance Grants and Growth Finance for African SMEs
We have partnered with a network of international professional service providers to introduce a program to support the growth of African small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The program combines technical assistance grants for enterprise development with access to growth finance.
Technical Assistance
The Technical Assistance component is a grant program delivered through the enterprise development network, a strategic alliance between the U.S. government and the private sector.
The program is designed for technical improvement of businesses in Africa and is for any private enterprise, i.e. private schools, hospitals, microfinance banks, mechanic shops, oil and gas vendors and many more small & medium businesses. It makes money available to absorb 50% of the cost of technical improvement projects.
“Technical Improvementâ€, as defined by this this grant program, includes any of the following:
1. Expansion of market or customer base,
2. Expansion of business capabilities,
3. Addition or improvement of property, plant and/or equipment,
4. Expansion of product or service line,
5. Improvement of operating efficiency,
6. Implementation of better accounting practices,
7. Increase of financial management capabilities,
8. Improvement of ability to develop financial forecasts,
9. Improvement of accounting practices,
10. Company audit,
11. Feasibility study,
12. Market analysis,
13. Enhancement of existing operations,
14. Acquisition of computer hardware and/or software,
Growth Finance
Growth finance is also made available to African enterprises through ending facilities provided by esignated Lenders. This is made possible by Political Risk Insurance (PRI) facilities provided the US government, by which it guarantees 90% of lending to emerging markets. Funding range is between US$100,000 and US$250 million.

1. The entity must be a “For profit†organization
2. Must have been registered for not less than two years
3. Must not be owing any taxes to the African government
4. Must use one of the prequalified organizations from the USA, which “Ladlas Prince†is one of the pre-qualified "Originators"
